Description
UWB, Short-Pulse Ground Penetrating RadarGPR is suitable for detecting large anomalies such as caves and cavities in high-resistance environments such as solid rocks or very dry sand, cavities covered with stones or bricks. Radio waves do not penetrate well in low-resistance environments, but normal soil(farm soil) is a medium of low resistance, so GPR technology does not penetrate the farm and garden soil.
Depth penetration is a function of antenna frequency and the electrical conductivity of the soils in the survey area.
Lower frequency antennas achieve greater depth penetration
compared with higher frequency antennas but with poorer spatial resolution. GPR is best suited for low conductivity or high resistivity materials like sandy soils, limestone and granite.
The GPR is 8bit, time windows 50nS, 100nS, 200nS, maximum depth in hard rocks 10m for large cavities.
